Oh Christmas Tree

How is it only 8 days until Christmas?  The weeks just keep flying by faster and faster with all the baby stuff on my brain.  Oh, and I keep forgetting that my birthday is coming up.  That has never happened before.  I will be 29... the last year of my 20s.  How is that possible?

So, I went light on our Christmas decor this year.  I probably didn't put out 1/3 of the crap stuff we have.  I barely had the energy to decorate at all, much less take it all down come January.

However, I'm really LOVING our tree this year.

No, I don't have any presents wrapped yet.  Don't judge.  At least 95% of the shopping is done!  I consider that a good enough accomplishment.

I've had this roll of bright green deco mesh for years, not really knowing what I wanted to do with it.  When my aunt was in town over Thanksgiving, she decorated my mom's tree with red deco mesh and I loved it so much that I immediately knew what I wanted to do with our tree this year!  I really could have used two rolls but I couldn't find any that matched what I already had so I made do.

Then I just put on all of our gold, silver and white ornaments, and called it love.

Shell ornament via TJ Maxx.  Icicle via Walmart.  Felt tree via Target (2 years ago, I think).

No red, yet still festive!

I also grabbed a roll of lime green ribbon and tied it to the top of a few ornaments to bring in the green some more.  Easy + cute.

Pinecone ornament via Pottery Barn.

I'm starting to feel that anxious energy set in.  The kind where I just want to clean my house from top to bottom and finish up all of those unfinished projects.  I think they call it nesting?  Whatever it is, I'm thankful that it finally arrived.  If I can't put my socks on by myself, at least I can finish the nursery, clean up the basement for the big makeover reveal (I'm sure you're as tired of hearing about it as I am of living with it), and mop my floors.

In case you missed the announcement on Facebook, check out my mantel over on Babycenter!  Thanks for having me, BC!
