So, I was at TJ Maxx last weekend (how many stories start that way?) when I happened to wander down the pillow aisle. They always have a wide variety of pillows for very reasonable prices, but I don't think I've ever actually bought any (*gasp*). However, when I spotted these paisley numbers, I knew the colors would be PERFECT in my living room. Check them out:
The reds, oranges, greens, teals and blues couldn't be more ME. They were $17 each and have removable pillow covers and down inserts. I mean, it doesn't really get better than that.
The last time I showed you guys my new jute rug was during Christmas so you haven't seen it without a big tree in the way. I love it even more than I did when I first got it.
Sadie loves it too, unfortunately. She has #2'd on it twice and #1'd on it 3 or 4 times. Of all the hardwoods around, she has to choose my NEW RUG. Oh, and she likes to eat the tassels. #badpuppy
I still don't love that our end tables don't sit all the way on it, but I have yet to figure out a solution. I don't really want to get rid of these end tables but there's nowhere else in the house to put them if I were to replace them with something else. #conundrum
Oh, and see my new IKEA sheepskin draped over the ottoman? Best $10 I ever spent. :)
Ever since I found my Lineberry Cart on Craigslist, I haven't been able to come up with a tablescape that I like. I'm still not sure this is it, but I'm getting closer. I just threw on every candle holder I could find and mixed in a couple of Reader's Digests.
Let's take a walk down memory lane and see what my living room looked like in January 2011:
Highwater curtains? Check.
Too-small rug? Check.
Boring coffee table? Check.
Ugly mantelscape with TV cords showing? Check.
Those are the same Target pillows that were on my sofa last week. I've loved them for a long time, but I needed more COLOR. I'm still looking for a new pillow for the chair, and perhaps a couple of smaller solid or striped pillows for the sofa.
Now, let's see what the living room looked like back in 2010:
No rug. Nothing on the tables. Boringtown, USA.
Now, if only I could find some artwork to go on either side of the french doors, I would be a happy camper! My plate wall's days are numbered, but I have to find something to replace them with first. Any ideas?
P.S. Tomorrow is Pinterest Challenge Day! Come back in the morning to see what project I tackled that has lived on one of my boards since the dawn of, well, Pinterest!
