Organizing the Wrapping Supplies

I've got quite an embarrassing photo to show you guys.  Don't judge.

Enter:  The Office Closet.

Do you have a closet like this?  One that you organize every few months, yet can never keep tidy?  For some reason, this closet has always been home to the wrapping paper, bags and tissue, which were always in the back corner (see arrow above). So every time I needed to wrap a gift, I had to climb over the mountains of books and miscellaneous decor items to get what I needed.  I'd finally had enough.  Actually, I've had enough with this whole closet, but that's a story for another day.  :)

I thought about doing a cute wrapping station like I've seen all over Pinterest and blogs, but the truth is, I don't wrap gifts all that often, so it made more sense for me to have these things out of the way.  I picked up a narrow storage bin at Target for $8 and set to work.

I pulled everything out of the closet and went through what I wanted to keep and what I could get rid of.

Wow, that's a lot of bags.  I threw away about half of them that I wasn't all that crazy about.

I separated all the bags by size and placed them along the bottom of the bin.  On top, I layered some boxes, tissue paper and wrapping paper.  Perfect fit.

I've always shied away from putting things under beds for fear of the snowball effect.  I limit the items to slippers and extra pillows, but I made an exception for the wrapping paper.  It's the perfect, accessible location.

So what about you?  Do you store anything under your bed?

Umm yes we all have a closet like that! From many years of apartment/small space living I have learned to live with limited closet space. So the one item we have under all our beds in containers similar to yours is bed sheets and and extra blanket. It makes changing the sheets super easy since the clean ones are always right there!
