So I was walking through Dillard's today...

...past the shoe department, when I saw that they had their sales racks up.  You know the ones... the racks with all the ugly shoes that nobody wanted which are now 65% off.  It's hard for me to resist 65% off, plus it would take less than a minute to look at the one rack of size 7s.

So I did.  And I found these beauties...

They look a little wild and are sort of "out there," but I was drawn to their patriotic flair (hello!  Memorial Day is in 4 days!), plus they fit my feet perfectly and are actually pretty comfortable (ask me how I'm feeling after I wear them for a couple hours).  They're Gianni Bini, an exclusively Dillard's brand, which I always covet because whoever this Gianni person is just gets me.  He knows exactly what I want in a pair of shoes, but sadly I can't afford him most of the time.  They were originally $79.99, marked down to $27.99 which I justified because THAT'S LESS THAN I SPENT ON THE PAIR OF CUTE YELLOW WEDGES AT TJ MAXX NOT TOO LONG AGO!  Since when does Dillard's beat TJ Maxx?  I mean, it just doesn't happen.  Just for fun, a little poll...

If you're in a reader, you'll have to click through to see the poll.

Oh, a little anecdote... so the little girl I watch, SK, was with me because we had just finished eating lunch and playing on the mall playground.  I found these shoes, put them on and was trying to decide how much I loved them when she told me to try to walk in them.  She got up from where she was sitting, took my arm and helped me walk down the aisle, as if steadying me because I might fall any minute!  It was quite funny because they are high but I've had lots of practice walking in heels plus being able to walk in a pair of shoes in way down the list of priorities for me.  Apparently walking is very important to her... she has a lot to learn.  :)
