It's that time again - April Package Pals!

First of all, if your name is Jennifer from A Jennuine Life, stop reading now!  I put your package in the mail yesterday. :)

As for the rest of you, I wanted to go ahead and share what I sent Jennifer so I could link up with Jamie at C.R.A.F.T. today.

Before we get started, I just want to say that this bi-monthly Package Pals that Jamie organizes is so fun!  Now, if only I could get my act together enough to send my package before the last possible day.  I'll try to do better next time!  :)

A while back, I pinned this cute monogram pillow from KoJo Designs and I thought it would be the perfect thing to send to Jennifer.  Now, this was my very first time trying any sort of piping, so it's totally not perfect, but I still think it's cute.

Can I just take a minute to say that Pinterest is the greatest thing since sliced bread?  I've really been trying to make things I've pinned (look for another Pinterest-inspired post later this week).

First, find four fabrics you like:  one for the front, one for the back (you may need 1/2 yard each, depending on how big you want your pillow), one for the sides, and one for the piping (1/4 yard of each of those will do).  Not pictured: 1 1/2 - 2 yards of piping cord.

I printed a D as large as it would go to fit on a sheet of printer paper, then to make it even larger I just kind of freehanded around it.

Turn right side out, stuff with polyfil and sew your opening closed (or if you can't figure out how to do that to make it invisible, just get out your hot glue gun.  shhhh, that'll be our little secret.)

And then you have a cute little monogram pillow!

Is it perfect?  No.  Is it cute anyway?  Yessiree!

Keeping on the Pinterest-inspired theme, I pinned these ribbon bookmarks forever ago.

So when I found this little journal at Michaels, I knew just the perfect thing to accompany it.

You'll need 1/4" elastic and a roll of ribbon.  Easy peasy.

Measure your piece of elastic, cut it to size, and baste it into a tube with a few stitches.

Take your roll of ribbon and fold it over itself to make a little ruffle.  If yours is patterned like mine, it's easy to make each ruffle the same size by using points in the design for reference.  Pin it together, attempt to sew it onto the elastic, realize that is a total FAIL, make another ribbon ruffle and sew it without the elastic, then hot glue it to your elastic tube.  Perfect.

Wouldn't this be such a cute headband too?  I tried on the one that I totally screwed up but sadly it's too small for my head.  It does make kind of a cute bracelet if you wrap it around twice, though!

And here it is on the journal.

I think I'll make myself one, too.  Maybe 3 or 4.  Maybe a bigger one for my hair.  Or a smaller one as a bracelet.

And now, the moment you've all been waiting for:  the whole package!

Monogram pillow, journal with DIY ribbon bookmark, Martha Stewart glitter, monogram D, 3 rolls of ribbon.

Jennifer, if you are still reading this, SHAME ON YOU, unless you're reading this after you received your package, in which case, I hope you don't mind a little hot glue.

:)

Be sure to check the Facebook page today to see what she sent me!

I've been really good and stopped reading right when you said, but the picture from the pinned journals kept popping up in my reader panel so I did get a sneaky peek!

LOVE IT! I knew right away the cute pillow was a "D", and Arden ran upstairs and put it on our bed. I'm glad you thought the bookmark made a good headband as well cuz it looks super cute on Hadley's little noggin! I'll definitely be borrowing it back as a bookmark though.

Thanks so much, this has been a really fun exchange!

The pillow is adorable! I may actually give piping a try. I've been terrified of it. The rest of your gifts are so great too!
