Have any of you ever gotten a spray tan? I really wanted to get one for our Hawaii trip (25 days and counting!), but I didn't want to get it the day before and then hate it (i.e. look orange) for our whole trip. So, I decided to do a test run to see how I liked it.
I did the kind where a person actually sprays you with a handheld spray gun, not the one where you go into a booth and it's all automated. My local tanning salon uses the Norvell system, and I have to say, I was pleased!
Tank: AE, Shorts: Aerie (loooove these new shorts!), Shoes: Bass
The tanning solution had a built-in bronzer so the technician could see where she was spraying, so the first day, I looked like a different race (seriously, you should have seen my tan lines!). When I took a shower the second day (you have to wait 24 hours), all the bronzer washed off and I was left with a perfectly even, not to mention less middle-aged-woman-who-spends-half-her-time-in-the-tanning-bed, tan. If you decide to get a spray tan, I would advise doing it on the weekend, not during your lunch break!
I didn't really know what I should wear as far as undergarments go, so I put on my oldest undies and bra. I didn't know if they would give me something to put on or what, but I was glad I wore my oldies as they didn't give me anything. The technician told me that the tanning solution is water-based so it should wash right out of my clothes, though.
The verdict: I'll definitely be getting another spray tan before our trip!
