Ahh, the obligatory sunburst mirror. Everyone has them, who am I to be different? I actually made these umm, 5 months ago, but I just decided where to hang them last week. Yeah, nothing gets done quickly around here.
I started out with a round mirror (scored 4 of them at a garage sale back in 2010. Yes, 2010.), a wooden disc, and some skinny popsicle sticks.
I placed the mirror on the wooden disc and traced around it so I would know where to place my sticks. Then I just started hot gluing them all around. You'll notice that my circle isn't perfectly centered but it doesn't matter because you'll never know in the end.
After the first layer. I ended up doing a second layer to cover up the wood disc completely.
I did two more mirrors, with shorter sticks, and some decorative sticks, then spray painted them all with Krylon's Sun Yellow.
Here they are, happy as clams, in their new spot above my fabulous Craigslist sofa. As I've said before, taking decent photos in this room is nearly impossible, so bear with me until I find a solution.
I'm so glad my mirrors can live on the wall now, instead of on the floor where they've been for months. Yay for getting things done!
By the way, Happy Leap Day!!
