Photoshop Actions: Before and Afters with Tutorial

I hope you guys enjoyed Wedding Week and getting to know us a little better!  As promised, here's some more info, including before and afters, on our honeymoon photos that I actioned up.  I've included a little tutorial on installing and using actions at the bottom of this post.  If you've never used them before, you're missing out because they're amaze-balls.  For realz.  Okay, suddenly it got all gangsta up in here.  But you catch my drift.  They're pretty cool.

For those of you who are wondering what the heck-ola an action is, I found the following definition on this site: "An Action is a recording of a series of Commands in Photoshop to which you apply a name. Later on, you can play that recording back on a different file and have Photoshop do your work for you."  Yup, that about sums it up.

Pretty awesome? I think so.

I downloaded all of the above actions from this site which I found on Pinterest.  Here's a little tutorial on installing and using them, but don't be alarmed - it's super easy!

First, click the link for the action of your choice.

Click Download File.

Once downloaded, make sure you know where the file is located.

Open Photoshop.

To access your Actions menu, Go to Window --> Actions.  Click on the button in the upper right hand corner, and go down to Load Actions.

Find your file.  This is why you need to make sure to know where it is located on your hard drive!  When you find it, click on it, then click Load.

And there it is in your Actions menu!

Now open up a photo of your choice, click on the Action (Make sure to click on the actual Action, not the folder that contains it) and click the little Play button at the bottom.

Voila!  A beautiful actioned up photo.  Easy peasy.

Now I'm off to find more actions to download.  Addictive, I tell ya!

Have a great weekend!  You can find me tailgating with The Quad Squad.
